Do you produce all of your own items or do you outsource?

We currently offer embroidery, direct-to-film (DTF), sublimation, and laser engraving in-house. The only time we outsource is if we need screen print transfers, which is very rare.

What is the difference between Sublimation, DTF, and Screen Print Transfers?

Sublimation requires a special ink and a high polyester count item. Once the ink is heated to 400 degrees, it fuses to the polyester fibers in the garment, making it permanent. The more polyester an item has, the bolder the colors will appear. 

  • Pros of Sublimation: Allows for a wide range of designs, cannot feel the design once it's on the shirt. It won’t crack or peel. It might fade a little after the first wash but that is also what gives it the vintage “lived in” look. 
  • Cons of Sublimation: It cannot go on dark garments. And it must go on an item with at least 40% polyester in it

Direct-to-film (DTF) takes a special printer, ink, and adhesive to create. The prints have a white background base so that the design always looks bold on the garment.

  • Pros of DTF: These prints can go on almost any item and more importantly, any color item! We are able to mass produce a design and get the finished item out to our customers quickly 
  • Cons of DTF: These are top quality garment prints but they do sit on top of the garment, meaning you will be able to feel them. They aren’t stiff or plastic feeling but they are not as soft as a Sublimation print. Over time, these designs will start to crack from continuous washing. Please follow our care instructions to preserve your garment for as long as possible.

Screen print transfers require a special pressing machine, ink, and a heat element. 

  • Pros of Screen Print Transfers: These designs can go on almost any item and also any color item. 
  • Cons of Screen Print Transfers: These prints, like DTF, sit on top of the garment and you will be able to feel them. They aren’t stiff but are not as soft as Sublimation. These take a very expensive and large machine to create. Over time, just as with DTF, these designs will begin to crack and even peel after continuous washes.

What is the best way to wash my garment so that it remains in the best condition possible?

  • We advise that you wash all items from us (regardless of DTF, Sublimation, or Screen Print Transfer) inside out, in cold water, use no bleach or liquid fabric softener, and always lay flat to dry. 
  • For embroidery items, we suggest all directions from above but also add that you wash it on the delicate cycle.

Are you local?

Yes we are! All 4 of our owners are local to the Toledo, Oh area!

What is your turnaround time (TAT)?

This will vary depending on the size of your order, how many current orders we have, and what type of items you are ordering. We generally have a 14-21 BUSINESS day TAT. Weekends and holidays do not count towards business days. When you place an order with us, we will quote you our current TAT.

What is your return policy?

  • If you are unhappy with an item, we allow 7 days from the date of delivery or the date your item is marked ready for pickup to return that item for store credit or exchange. After the 7 days, we are not required to exchange or apply store credit. Sublimation designs will fade after washing them the first time, please keep this in mind. Each item will be listed with what type of design it has, we will not accept returns or exchanges for sublimation designs fading.
  • If your item is a custom order and you signed off on the artwork, we will not accept any returns or exchanges. 
  • We do not accept returns or exchanges for sizing issues. All size charts are provided with each listing.
  • Once any order is placed, it CANNOT be changed, modified, or canceled.
  • We are NOT responsible for LOST or STOLEN packages, please contact your post office for assistance. If the post office or UPS isn't able to assist you, please email us at
  • We DO NOT offer cash refunds. Refunds will be issued in the form of store credit. 
  • We offer account credit to be used toward another purchase or IF available we can do an exchange. The customer is responsible for shipping cost back to us and to reship the exchanged item.
  • Items must be returned unworn, unwashed, tagged attached (if tag was on the item when shipped to you), scent free, pet hair free, and MUST BE SMOKE FREE!
    Products not eligible for return include: preorders and anything marked as *FINAL SALE*, if a 25% discount code or more was used on purchase, custom or personalized items.
  • Damaged Item or Defects: We must be notified within 48 hours of any damaged items or items with defects. If not notified by the 48 hours, we are no longer responsible. Please send an email to and please include pictures of the item and packaging in your message.

How do I return an item?

Customers are responsible for the return costs. We do not provide a return label. We recommend that all customers insure their return and get proof of delivery. How does your sizing run?

  • We use a large variety of brands of garments, please look at each listing for brand details and we will also include a size chart with each listing (generally it will be included within the product photos)
  • For our retail brands (Sassy Sisters and 29Threads) we offer adult sizes Small-4XL almost always, currently some of the very popular brands of items (Bella+Canvas and Comfort Colors for example) do not offer sizes about 2x in some of their styles. We try to limit offering items to our customers that do not carry our desired size range.
  • Youth and Toddler sizes vary greatly brand to brand. Please look at the size charts provided with each listing

Do you wash the items before customers receive them?

The only items that will be washed prior to customers receiving them will be bleached and hand-dyed items. We use Tide laundry soap to wash all items.

What are your store’s Terms and Conditions?

  • Shipping times aren't the same as processing order time frames. Turn Around Time is 14-21 business days for all items unless otherwise noted. Weekends, Federal Holidays, and Personal Vacations are not included in TAT. Bleached and Hand Dyed items are one of a kind. No two shirts will be the same.
  • If your purchase arrives damaged or inaccurate items, please send me an email to within 48 hours.
  • We are not responsible for packages once they have been dropped off with USPS. If you believe your package is lost, please contact the shipping company to file a claim. We will not refund, remake, or credit your account for any order lost or damaged by USPS or UPS.
  • Orders are sent to the shipping address entered on the order form. Please, double check the address you entered is complete and accurate. Copper House Designs, Sassy Sisters, and 29Threads is not responsible for packages that are not delivered due to incorrect shipping addresses. If returned, the buyer must repay shipping to have it shipped again.
